Lilitu. Lilitu, she had met the gate keepers who decided her fate. It was obvious. Purgatory was a horribly distraught place. They had seen each other, finally, in Purgatory. Spending whatever time together they could. But Krieger knew of the pool and they knew what happened if you stayed in Purgatory for too long... Lilitu was now in Hell. The pits of oblivious that everyone has nightmares about. Yet Krieger was here, still in Purgatory. He hadn't gone up when Lilitu went down. Rather he stood frozen and wandered a bit before stumbling in front of the pool of desire.
It was clear of his desire. Lilitu and Krieger shouldn't be apart from each other. That already was a clear feeling inside his heart. However there was another feeling inside of him that was making him dizzy, feel apart from himself. It was Purgatory doing its bidding on him. He hadn't seen clear enough or large enough puddles of water to see himself. But he was having small nightmares of what he might become if he stay in Purgatory any longer. And so he did as he was looking forward to doing this whole time, stepping into the Pool of desire.
The water engulfed him, he held his breath but found the water wasn't touching his fur. He was floating and all was dark, until he emerged from another pool. A pool of water that was black. The atmosphere was dark and smelt of ashes. Hell. This is hell... He stepped out of the black water quickly, not trusting it or anything around him currently. In the distance he heard a raven caw and there was a constant background sound of fire burning. The cackling of fire as it rages non stop in these ruins.
Looking to the horizon, it was lit by the fires that seemed to engulf every other source that was on the ground. It was vast and above him was dark, with no stars. Swallowing whatever was growing in his throat, he decided to move rather than get caught standing still. Running off into a decent jog, he ran and ran, toward a beach side that seemed to smell of wolves, if anything that could cover the smell of burnt carcasses. He came to a abrupt stop, chest heaving. Well it was do or die, sort of... With a bundle of courage, he lifted his head and let out a offering short howl, looking for the one he loved.

[atrb=border,0,true][atrb=cellSpacing,0,true][atrb=cellPadding,0,true][atrb=width,451,true] | [atrb=background,http://i899.photobucket.com/albums/ac192/fireb4ashes/Lilitu-Frozen---MIDDLE.png] She was alone now, and there was nothing she could do about it. The pool of desire only worked so well...she could see him, but she couldn't force herself to get stuck in that arctic wasteland for all of eternity, and there was no way that she would be able to get into heaven, and stay there. Not with what she'd done. No cosmic law could right her wrongs to the point at which she could stay upstairs with him. She just hoped to god that he wasn't planning on coming down here to get stuck with her. She loved him, and that was why, she could never forgive herself if that happened.
She lay atop the brimstone pedestal-type rock, head resting on her paws, eyes sliding closed, though the rest of her senses were at full alert. Her entire body was always ready for any attack, any threat. It was how you had to be in order to remain corporeal in this place, as opposed to becoming part of the lava flow. You could still hear screams sometimes, as they echoed across the wastelands as creatures succumbed to wounds that couldn't possibly exist because they were dead, after all. Below her, the dark water crashed at the rocks, its anger unmatched in the entire realm of Hell.
The waves nearly drowned out all other noise, the tide ripping and jerking at the shore, pulling at whomever dared to venture too close to its grasping tendrils, threatening to drag those foolish enough to wander so close into its depths. Suddenly, the howl permeated the air, and it sounded hauntingly familiar. She jolted to full alert, ears pricked and eyes wide.
No, it certainly couldn't be who she thought it was...but better safe than sorry. She let out a short, almost hesitant howl in reply and leapt off the rock, landing with a thud in the sand, spraying whatever would be behind her with grains of the black substance as she dug her hind paws in and took off in the direction that the echoing howl carried her, mouth open as she breathed in, searching for the familiar scent she both prayed she would and would not find. | |
