Mist whispered through the reeds like the voices of a thousand lost souls speaking just beyond the thin veil parting Purgatory from the molten depths of Hades. A hollow, ceasless murmur only rarely absent from the otherwise quiet wetland. It was a pleasant backdrop to the rhythmic lapping of water against the soggy shoreline.
Sobek listened to the mumbling of the mist as he floated lackadaisically in the center of what was arguably one of the largest ponds in the marshes. Located in the heart of Sobek's territory, the pond was an invariable Garden of Eden in the wastelands. The water was cleaner than in most places; still the same shade of pitch as everywhere else, but not as viscous with filth and scum. The shoreline was riddled with dry reeds, making it virtually impossible for an animal to creep to the water's edge unbeknownst to Sobek whether he was floating in some odd corner of the pond or perched upon his island.
Other animals did not come into Sobeks pond. At least, not those who had lived in the Marshes for any noteworthy length of time. He was the undisputed King of the Waters, his jaws large enough to sever an average male of his species clean in half. Rumor of the dragon like reptile lurking in the dark waters spread quickly, and the residents of the Palidus Marshes steered clear of his land. Fortunately Purgatory was host to a steady influx of new comers entirely ignorant of the workings of the swamp. Sobek feasted well on these creatures, fattening himself over the years until he reached immense proportions.
At the moment the reptilian was making no effort to hide himself. The serrated edges of his dull black scales loomed above the water and gleaming obsidian spikes curled above his back in rows from neck to tail. Long, sleek horns protruded from the back of his skull, curving to wicked points. His legs swayed lazily beneath the surface, propelling him sluggishly nearer his island as he toyed with the idea of emerging from the pond to take a nap on the shore. But he was in no hurry to make a decision, and for the time being was content to float about in the water. Eventually Sobek decided he would climb out should he drift to the shore, but until then he would simply enjoy the cool water lapping at his scaly hide.

How all who had entered where either slaughtered or brainwashed, made into his slave... Oh, the rumors she had heard. Her curiosity was only natural, though. She had to be just as menacing as this monster, if not more. There were rumors of herself out there; The Dire Serpent was her personal favorite, it was. She was rather large, and long.
Cyanide's body swirved fro mside to side as her belly granted her traction on the bramble. The journey to the marshes was a long one for her, though she endured. It was somewhat fun for her; She was going to come face to face with the beast so many feared. Her reputation would only grow from here on out, it really would.
Her spine slid from side to side; left to right; to and fro. Her movements were flawless, her bright eyes cunning and anxious. Under her smooth belly, bracken and mud caved for her body's slender shape. There were some points where her body blended completely, and other times she stuck out like a sorethumb. Either way, Cyanide knew she need not fret anything. She was never in any danger; She would simply strangle anything, anyone who dared threaten her. Then, she'd swallow them whole.
Finally, she could smell the marshes; she could taste it. Her tongue flickered in and out of her mouth, scooping the scent into herself. Somewhere in it, she could smell the stink of pond, and even deeper, a larger reptilian. As her body dragged her closer to the waters, she saw- No,, not saw, but simply knew what the beast was. Not quite in the waters, she stopped, and let her body curl. Then she raised her head up high, and smirked slyly. Just an alligtor, Cyanide taunted, knowing is was more than just an alligator.

Letting the flesh of his victims grow decadently tender and delicious until he was ready to feast like the king he was. Some days prior a disoriented, adolescent antelope - such youngsters being among Sobek’s favorite meals, surpassed only by man flesh - had stumbled into his lands and plunged into the water. Sobek had made quick work of the pathetic grass eater, crushing the life from its body and stowing it away within the cool, dark confines of his larder. It was barely even a mouthful for a magnificent beast such as himself, but it would be a lovely treat indeed. Like honey to a bear.
At the moment Sobek wasn’t hungry, but the wafting aromas tempted his appetite into rearing it’s head as did the prospect of a lengthy slumber afterwards. He was on the verge of succumbing to his cravings when sensitive ears filtered a new sound from his surroundings: swamp grass hissing against scale. Sobek sank immediately beneath the black water until only the bare tips of his colossal dorsal spines peeking above the surface, appearing to be little more than a cluster of submerged reeds. And there he waited in patient silence until the reptile who dared trespass in his domain slithered within view on the embankment. Sobek gazed up through the murky liquid, observing the snake as it reared her head, hissing insolently and daring to knock on death’s door yet a second time.
Jaws parting in an immense, reptilian smirk Sobek thrashed his tail, propelling himself forward to shallower depths where he planted clawed feet against the muck and fine silt to heave his several ton bulk above the surface. Water cascaded from his back in waves, pouring from between rows of obsidian spines and spilling down his scaly torso, “Am I now?” Sobek growled darkly, fixing his gaze on the serpent and sizing her up as a potential addition to his larder, “Why are you squirming on my shore, little worm?”

Oh yes the gods were funny creatures. They were just big, funny gods. Haha. These were the only thoughts going through Adrian's mind these days. God damn them all. He believed in no gods, other than the fact that he thought they were merciless bastards. What is this! Adrian looked into rushed stream, expecting to see soft print fur, curled ears. The cute and adorable nose of a feline. Tail swinging back and forth. Not a reptile!! A small gecko at that... What in the actual hell.
Those thoughts still invaded Adrian's mind every now and then. But he felt the same. Despite being the size of a small rodent, he was golden and scaled. He was more ignored by most creatures than anything. So he was walking around, more like crawling, to some larger waters. In hope to free himself of some boredom. See if anyone else was a large lion before they were turned into a little mouse or something. But Adrian was still Adrian, so after about 100 feet, he decided it was too much.
And so his little lizard legs burned from the movement. Once upon a time he could leap from tree's for gods sake. And now he was here, belly already to the ground with exhaustion. This blows. With a huff, he could practically taste a water source near by. There wasn't a direct sunlight above, but he still felt in dire need to get into some water. Soak and let his worries soak away with it. Whatever, he was breathing eh? This was good enough for him. He pushed himself to the shore and literally rolled over.
His stomach exposed, like a baby just basking in a sun he can't really feel. But it felt nice, he wanted to roll in some grass like he did when he was a Ocelot. He missed just laying in the sun, doing nothing all day. Now it took him forever to get any where and he felt useless. But it is what it is. His long-gone imaginary ears pulled forward as he realized there was a gigantic beast of a alligator speaking to a snake not far from him. He boosted himself toward their scene as quickly as he could, using all his might. "If she's a little worm, what does that make me?" He asked in his casual - pacifist like voice. Eyes half lidded like the hippie hearted entity he was.
He just didn't realize how much crueler and different this after life was than the paradise of Virtus.
ooc; I've never rp'd a lizard before or Adrian at that for a longgg time!!

The crocodile, with surprising speed, propelled his body onto the shore, water flying down his spikes? Well, it was Purgatory... Mutations were quite common. Cyanide, honestly thought, he looked like a badass. A bamf- hah- Maybe she shouldn't be taunting him like she was.... No, hell with it. As far as battle of the breeds, the two were matched; His deadly jaws and her deadly strangehold.
Cyanide doubted it would come to that, however. My bad- jusssst a croc. Cyanide rolled her tongue, much like a steroetypical snake would sound. Cyanide rolled her golden eyes, as well. Worm? She'd been called far worse. He would have to make a better effort. Oh? Your shore? I'm sorry, I wasn't aware your name was printed anywhere around here.
Cyanide's head snapped left when she heard another voice- Woah! What did it make him? Cyanide snickered, an airy sound, and shook her head. That's a very good quessstion...! Cyanide looked to the croc again, and winked a slit eye. What do you say, sssir? She asked, slivering forward a little big, her head coiled high again. Perhaps prey... Or an appetizer? Cyanide looked to the smaller lizard... Salamander? She didn't care to know. She did, however, want to know if his bark would meet up to his bite. For such a small creature, he had to much ego for her liking.

He watched and waited. The titans were battling it out and as far as he knew, this serpent had quite the gall to challenge the legend of the swamp, albeit taking on such a creature of gigantic size. This amphibious monster could easily eradicate every single one of their lives if he wanted, and with the right opportunity, he certainly would. This snake looked cunning, however, and with her size, she could wrap around his torso in no time and find a soft spot on him long enough to sink her venomous fangs in. Although he didn't know why, he didn't want to interfere just yet, for that would frankly ruin the surprise. They were both deadly titans, but this was entirely unfair on one end.
Let's make this interesting, shall we?
He sprung from his hiding spot into the marsh, paws thrusting deep into the earth upon landing about a few inches from the creature near him. Glancing down, he snuffed hard and returned his gaze toward the two titans. "Considering you're about as oblivious as these two, that would make you just as expendable. But considering I don't have a taste for lizard at the moment, you'd be dessert."
At that moment, his glittering emerald hues trained upon the bodies that stood before him. He could smell the tension in the air as his mind worked like the gears of a clock. Every possible action that would develop from here on in was a gamble, and he was willing to take it to have some fun with the legendary beast and this new cunning assailant. I mean, what does he have left to lose, right? He's already in between the eyes of two entities that could make or break him, and now, in the eyes of two titans and a subordinate gecko. Although, the lizard did provide some comedic relief, so he wouldn't be dessert just yet.
"I'd imagine you're the legendary Sobek, yes?"
He trained his hues onto the massive gator that stood before him. Armored body, sharp reflexes, mutated horns the size of jagged rocks in the mouth of a cave; Shit... He was certainly living up to the hype he created in this marshy land, but he had yet to determine that. There was no way that he could take this guy down right now without a definite weakness, and if he recalled right, it'd be hard to get to with all that armor he possesses. The serpent on the other hand, was probably quick as lightning. He could see her muscles tense up and relax, clearly ready for anything. It was pretty evident that she would be the one he'd have to keep a sharp eye on, and it was also evident that this shit wouldn't end well if he messed up even just a tiny bit. But it didn't matter to him; he was already dead.
