We have based our site on the creativity of 'what lies beyond life on earth'. We loosely use the Norse myths as gods for our site- granted we know some things don't mix or fit, but it's for the fun of role playing. We are an open - plot site, but you must follow this basis in role playing that your character is no longer on earth, but granted a second chance at life starting at the Purgatory.
Consider yourself lucky.
We're born on earth with a life time goal to feel like you belong. To feel like your life was at least worth the time you spent on the planet. Some of us are lost during life, lost in a spiral of confusion, frustration and insanity. There have been wars between human creatures concerning religion and after life, there have been occurrences in history which no being should ever repeat. Some of us are told each and every day to be careful, make good choices. Others don't have these thoughts occur in their heads as they make reckless decisions. Each and every act, word and breath affect everything around you at all times. There is a time in every one's life where they wish they could go back in time, and fix everything they ever felt was wrong on their part. Who doesn't want to be perfect?But perfection is impossible.
Lives end on earth. You are placed on the planet Earth with other beings alike, only to count down the days until your unfortunate death. You may live to prosper and die at a healthy old age. However the world is a far more cruel adventure than that, most deaths are caused by sickness, accidents, suicide or intentions of murder. This is how the world works. You're born, then die. As a young-ling you are told lying, fighting, stealing, adultery etc. was wrong, you will in fact go to hell. Yet all these things apparently prove to be to hard to resist. Every single living- breathing thing whom possess the power of choice and words, will rule against their religion's road to heaven or hell. Although some religions don't believe in just heaven, hell or neither, there is often a conscious within the minds of atheist that give them morals.
You place your faith in your morals. Your morals will become your religion. We all believe in something and those who don't are those whom are the most lost with themselves... Life will forever be a mystery.
These thoughts in mind, suddenly the creation goddess & ancestor of Norse gods, Buri started an experiment. Buri created three realms in which all species who have died on Earth, can choose to face their fates of their past lives.
How would all of these creatures react to such an large adjustment to their deaths. As if they were all getting a second chance. Buri's wishes of granting these species to something in which these gods represent, a second chance.

An occurrence has led to your death. Perhaps you remember how, perhaps you have forgotten from the trauma. Some of us choose to forget, some of us choose to continue in denial of your death or some of us decide to make the best of their second chance. Either way each of these species are reborn into the purgatory where you wait to find out your after life destiny. Vor, the goddess who knows everything and her assistants will judge you. Will you venture to heaven or hell? Or will you refuse your fate and venture into the unknown of the purgatory.
Beware. Don't push your luck with your second chance, my friend.
The 'post' is where you are judged in the purgatory. You might move on into the pits of hell, greeting the hell hounds at the gate- where you will say goodbye to the bright free world one last time. OR you will move on to the stairway to heaven, a short enriching journey to a clean area that had appeared in your dreams after your death. But sometimes there are those who are crazy enough to deny both chances at another life and venture into the Purgatory realm. The purgatory is an area of judgement, not a playground. The purgatory has no hope for your survival and the security of the purgatory will not seek you out.
Granted your character is living, breathing and even smiling perhaps. There are many questions left unanswered. Such as why, you, get a second chance. You should be grateful as you fill your lungs once again. But what are Buri's intentions? With the guardians of heaven so strict, purgatory security smirking and the hell hounds snarling- you get a eerie feeling at being tricked. But around you there are others like you, your species or those you've considered enemies. Let this prove as another test in your theory, prey vs predators.
But what happens when you die after your second chance?
Nobody knows.
